Behind-the-scene Medical Equipment War

- President Donald Trump, who this week sidestepped his own sanctions against Russia to save American lives from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It was a sight that warmed the heart of even the most cynical American opponent of Vladimir Putin’s Russia—a giant An-124 aircraft, loaded with boxes of desperately needed medical supplies, being offloaded at JFK Airport. When President Trump spoke on the phone with his Russian counterpart on March 31, he mentioned America’s need for life-saving medical supplies, including ventilators and personal protective equipment. Two days later the AN-124 arrived in New York.”

Wendy:   Trump sidestepped sanction by allowing ventilators and other medical equipments produced by sanctioned Russian company to come in.

-Trump also seized 200K medical masks bound for Germany, in what some call “an act of modern piracy”,

As confirmed coronavirus cases passed 250,000 in the US this week, the White House pressured safety gear manufacturer 3M to step up imports of protective masks from its Chinese factories. Trump publicly promised on Thursday that 3M would “have a big price to pay” if it didn’t increase supply to the US.

American officials were acquiring these masks by more underhand means.
A delivery of 200,000 masks left a 3M factory in China this week and arrived in Bangkok, Thailand, from where they were supposed to be sent to the German capital. The masks never got to Berlin, and police in the city told Der Tagesspiegel that the shipment was instead bound for the US. Berlin's Senator for the Interior Andreas Geisel confirmed on Friday that the masks had been “confiscated.”
“We consider this an act of modern piracy. This is not how you deal with transatlantic partners,” Geisel said.

—It’s been shockingly discovered Communist China deliberately flooded Europe with defective COVID-19 fighting medical equipment

As the coronavirus rages across Europe, a growing number of countries are reporting that millions of pieces of medical equipment donated by, or purchased from, China to defeat the pandemic are defective and unusable.

The revelations are fueling distrust of a public relations effort by Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Communist Party to portray China as the world's new humanitarian superpower.

Wendy:  European countries reported defective COVID-19 medical equipment from China included Netherlands (1.3 Million N95 mask), Spain (640K coronavirus test kits defective), Slovakia (1 million defective test kits), Malaysia (test kits not reliable), Turkey (test kits only had 30-35% accuracy), Czech Republic (300K test kits had 80% error rate)……

On March 30, China urged European countries not to "politicize" concerns about the quality of medical supplies from China. "Problems should be properly solved based on facts, not political interpretations," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said.
