QE4 "Not A QE" Begins: Fed Starts Buying $60BN In Bills Per Month Beginning Next Week


-The US central bank announced today it would start buying $60 billion treasury bills per month starting 10/15.    Wendy:  this is Not repo.

-In order to provide an ample supply of reserves, the Fed will continue with $75 billion in overnight Repo and 70 billion in short-term Repo at least throu January of next year.

-Wendy:  this is basically the QE that is surprisingly announced sooner than most analysts expected.   The Fed initially talked about doing this in November.

-So now we have $60 billion QE + $75 billion in weekly Overnight Repo + $70 billion in weekly short-term Repo (14 days) in progress.   But the Fed is still saying they are “not a QE”.    Sure, Jerome, whatever you say!

20190114-Bitmain-BTC goes down to $1800?

Crypto Cowboy: Problem with BTC space – centralization of the BTC.       The 6 biggest mining companies in the world are calling the shots and they are mostly Chinese.   Also big banks are entering the space.    Right now it looks like Bitmain is going down.
